Today I’m going to teach you how to have a home spa facial for acne skin.

Other then your daily routine of cleansing toning and moisturizing, a weekly home facial will help tremendously to help control acne. We have discuss all the steps and different kind of masks and exfoliator earlier. It is now time to put it all together and experience the thorough cleansing effect of a home spa facial.

Try to find a time where there is no distraction when doing your facials. Setting the mood helps the spa facial to be most effective and beneficial. However, do not put off the idea just because you cannot find a quiet time for yourself, making excuses for not doing a thorough treatment for your face is not going to help improve your skin condition. You need commitment to see results.

After cleansing and exfoliating your skin, you can “open” up your pores with steaming or warm towel (not hot but warm).

For steaming, you can either buy a facial steamer or improvise by using a basin filled with boiling water. Add a tea bag, preferrebly green tea, for its anti-oxidant properties and its oil dissolving attributes. For those who has sinusitis, you can double this steaming to help clear your sinus with a drop of eucalyptus essential oil.

Cover a towel over your head with the basin around 20-30cm under your face. I find it helpful to have a drinking straw ready, so that when the water gets cooler, you can extend the steaming by blowing into the water.

If you prefer, 2 towel wring-ed with either floral water or with a drop of essential oil, warmed in a microwave oven for around 20-30 seconds works just as well. After microwaving the towels, unwrapped one towel first and place it over a thoroughly cleanse face. When the first towel begins to cool down, unwrap the second towel and repeat over the face.

Steaming helps to soften the blackheads, deep cleansing the pores from the outside and stimulate blood circulation and lymph drainage for further enhance cleaning from the inside. Steaming also promotes skin regeneration and the perspiration helps to eliminate toxin.

When your skin is thoroughly cleanse, you can remove the already soften blackheads and pimples gently with your fingers wrapped with cotton pads. Never over squeeze any blemishes that is too deeply embedded, just get rid of those that is on the surface. You will not want to exchange blemish , which can be controlled, for scars which is far more damaging for your skin.

Remember that disinfecting your skin is a very important step after eliminating your acne. Clean and disinfect your skin thoroughly before putting on the mask.

A reminder about mask. Mask should be left on the skin according to manufacturers instruction. Usually this will be from 10- 30 minutes depending on the types of mask. However if you decided to rest with the mask on, remember that it should not exceed 1 hour as this will in turn suffocate the skin.

Mask should be cleansed off thoroughly. Remember to check along the hairline. Tone the skin again and apply the protection cream before doting pimple cream on spots only.
